Academic Research
The RID team is committed to the development of academic research at ECC. The team works collaboratively with the academic schools to strengthen the research outs of their students and staff. This includes providing research consultations and training to both students and staff particularly in areas of methodological design, data analysis and reporting. Staff and students may book and appointment with a RID team for consultation through the Eagle Mail.
At the core of ECC’s research mandate to develop ethical and professional practice among all student and faculty researchers. The RID team actively contributes to the ethical monitoring of all academic research conducted by students and staff through theInstitutional Review Board (IRB). The IRB is a committee, led by the Dean – Research and Innovation whose primary role is that of reviewing, approving and monitoring all primary research undertaken by ECC stakeholders. This committee ensure ethical research design and execution throughout the institution. IRB also reviews IRB protocol submissions from external parties who are desirable of conducting research at ECC.
